NEW EAGLE  – Ringgold School Board retained a law firm to represent its members in litigation that was not revealed at a meeting of directors Wednesday.

The board retained Weiss Burkhardt & Kramer of Pittsburgh without any discussion at the school board meeting in the district’s administration building in New Eagle. The firm will be paid $165 an hour.

Board solicitor Tim Berggren declined to discuss the case or identify the other party in the litigation when questioned after the meeting ended.

In other business, the board agreed to petition Washington County Court to appoint Nevin Beatty as a district police officer.
