Covered bridge damaged: The Shriver covered bridge on Turkey Hollow Road in Center Township was damaged March 17 when a box truck attempted to cross the span and struck the top with its roof, state police said. The wooden bridge sustained minor damage. The driver, who was not identified by police, was cited for failing to obey traffic control devices.

DUNKARD

Assault: State police said Chad Todd, 37, was assaulted March 14 by three men wielding knives and clubs at Plant and Taylorstown roads in Dunkard Township. Police said Todd was able fend off the attack and run away, while the three men left in a dark sedan.

FRANKLIN

Single-car crash: Christopher M. Wrick, 24, of Dilliner, was injured when his pickup truck crashed into a mailbox on Garards Fort Road in Franklin Township about 6 a.m. Thursday and then struck a creek embankment, state police said. He was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said. He was listed in fair condition Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
