CUMBERLAND

Burglary charge: Joshua Lee Hegedis, 27, of 121 Municipal Road, Carmichaels, was charged with burglary, theft, trespassing and criminal mischief after Cumberland Township police said they were called to a reported break-in at 1835 E. Roy Furman Highway shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday. They said Hegedis was found in a locked bedroom upstairs after he had been told not to return. Hegedis allegedly attempted to take money and cigarettes from the home.

JEFFERSON

Two-vehicle crash: State police said a 17-year-old Jefferson boy crashed into the rear of a pickup truck on Route 88 at Clarksville Road in Jefferson Township shortly before noon Sunday. Neither driver was injured.

Items stolen: A camper, gates, posts and a plastic corrugated pipe were stolen between Feb. 24 and March 3 from a property at Route 21 and Jenson Hollow in Jefferson Township, state police said.

WAYNESBURG

Possession charge: John Michael Wunder, 24, of 77 N. East St., Waynesburg, was charged by Waynesburg police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly being found March 20 at his home with a Subutex pill and paraphernalia, including syringes, a crack pipe and a container with white residue. Police said they had gone to Wunder’s house to serve a warrant on him for failing to appear at a court proceeding involving a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Public drunkenness charge: Samuel Albert Hixon, 20, of 381 Koster Road, Lititz, was charged with loitering, public drunkenness and purchase of alcohol by a minor after Waynesburg police received a call that an intoxicated man was trying to enter 243 W. Greene St. in the borough early Sunday. Hixon, according to the criminal complaint, had trouble standing up and slurred speech.
