Waynesburg VFW to hold Vietnam remembrance event
Veterans, active military, family members and anyone interested in the Vietnam War era are invited to a public commemorative ceremony Thursday.
The program begins at 6 p.m. at VFW Post #4793, at 445 E. Lincoln St. in Waynesburg with a social following at 7 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided, and photos from the traveling Vietnam Wall will be on display.
All are welcome to attend.
March 29 marks an anniversary in that combat; in 1973, the last American combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam.
The first Vietnam Day was honored in 1974 by presidential proclamation.
