Route 218 repaving south of Waynesburg to begin Monday
A road project to repave Route 218 south of Waynesburg Borough is expected to get underway Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The $2.4 million project will involve milling and resurfacing a section of road between Cook Avenue, just south of the railroad overpass in Waynesburg, to Bluff Ridge Road in Franklin Township.
The contractor also will later resurface the road in Waynesburg, Morgan Street, from the overpass to High Street. That part of the project, which will entail work in front of Margaret Bell Miller Middle School, is expected to be started after the completion of the school year.
The contractor on the project, A. Folino Construction Inc., plans to work weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flaggers will be employed to control traffic as needed, PennDOT said.
PennDOT also is planning to complete another repaving project in the Waynesburg are this summer.
That project will entail repaving High and Greene streets in Waynesburg as well as Route 19/21 through Morrisville and Route 19 south to near Lemley Road in Whiteley Township. South Richhill Street between Greene and High streets in Waynesburg also will be repaved.
