Scott Thomas Roberts
Scott Thomas Roberts, 49, of Azle, was charged by state police with driving under the influence, careless driving and reckless driving. Police were called at about 2:15 a.m. to McDonald’s restaurant, 185 Wilson Road, after Roberts’ rig hit a drive-through order station and then hit a lighted entrance sign at the restaurant. The truck then hit wires attached to a utility pole and struck a gas line in front of PNC Bank, 195 Wilson, crashed into height restriction poles and a sign and hit the mailbox, state police said in an affidavit.
Roberts failed field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level of .123, above the legal limit for intoxication, state police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was set for May 18.
