A woman was injured when her motorcycle crashed on Morganza Road in Canonsburg about 2:25 p.m. Thursday.

The woman was traveling south and had just passed the Cavasina Drive intersection when she tried to brake during a rainstorm. The motorcycle slid, went over the median and into the opposite lane of the Philip Murray Bridge over Chartiers Creek, according to Canonsburg police Officer Tom O’Rourke.

O’Rourke said a witness told him the woman hit a railroad sign, causing severe damage to the back of her helmet. The woman, who is in her late 20s or early 30s, was alert and responding to police, O’Rourke said. She was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
