Beth-Center expects no real estate tax increase
Bethlehem-Center School Board this week introduced a tentative 2018-19 district budget that does not call for an increase in real estate taxes.
Interim business manager Valarie Caprini said she sought grants and cut unnecessary spending to balance the proposed $19.8 million budget without cutting programs.
The district expects to earn $4.3 million in levied taxes and spend $6.3 million on instruction, district records show.
The school board is expected to adopt the budget at 7 p.m. June 25.
In other business Monday, the board appointed retired McGuffey School District principal Tom Bedillion as acting elementary school principal, board President Donald Crile said.
The board also approved advertising for an elementary principal, food services director and confidential secretary to the superintendent, Crile said.
