CALIFORNIA

Assault charge: Zharia Michell Mourning, 20, of Pittsburgh, faces charges of simple assault and harassment after California police said she knocked on an apartment door at Vulcan Village May 9 and asked the woman who answered if she knew a certain man. When the woman said she did, Mourning allegedly began punching the woman. The charges will proceed by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Disorderly house citations: Austin Puskar, 20, of Dawson, and Kaleb Stevenson, 21, of Connellsville, were cited for violating California’s disorderly house ordinance after police were called May 6 for a loud party.

CANONSBURG

Driver injured: George Pihou, 90, of Canonsburg, was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue, Canonsburg police said. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. The other driver was identified as Raymond Phillips, 80, also of Canonsburg.

CANTON

Drug, assault arrest: Joseph Barnes, 51, of 44 Griffith Ave., Canton, was arrested Tuesday night by state police on charges of possession of paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, simple assault and harassment. Police were called to his home for a domestic dispute when the woman he allegedly assaulted told the trooper he left the home in a vehicle. Barnes’ vehicle was spotted and stopped on Jefferson Avenue, and he was taken into custody. Police said he had suspected marijuana and paraphernalia. The alleged victim told police he punched her in the face. Barnes was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail.

Threats, PFA arrest: Eric Wayne Wilkeson, 38, of 207 Key Ave., Canton, was arrested Monday by state police after they were called to his home. His girlfriend told police he threatened to burn down their home and also stole her cellphone. She also told police she had a protection-from-abuse order against him. He was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit on charges of teroristic threats, theft, harassment and a PFA violation. He was placed in Washington County jail.

PFA violation alleged: John Leonard Kosek Jr., 49, of 230 Crestwood Drive, Washington, was arrested Tuesday by state police after he allegedly violated a PFA order obtained by a Canton woman. He allegedly went to her home on Broadmore Drive. She told police when she returned home, he was passed out on her porch. He was arraigned on the violation allegation before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail.

CARROLL

Woman charged: Julia Alexis Star, 33, of 941 Grant Ave., Monessen, is charged by township police with illegally operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock and disorderly conduct, court records show. The charges stem from a complaint Star shot a bow and arrow near a playground at Mon Valley YMCA, 101 Taylor Run Road, about 6:20 p.m. April 28. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Monday in a summons.

DONORA

Fraud alleged: Quincy Todd Morgan, 31, of 322 Walnut St., Donora, is charged by the state attorney general’s office with insurance fraud and attempted theft, court records show. Morgan is accused of seeking $1,122 in damages from Progressive Insurance for a claim involving his motorcycle striking a deer Oct. 9, when the investigation allegedly showed the damages involved it striking another vehicle on an earlier date. He is free on $5,000 unsecured bond set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.

MONONGAHELA

Theft alleged: Lana Shay Fowler, 29, of 804 Somerset St., Monessen, is charged by city police with theft and access device fraud, court records show. Police accuse her of stealing a wallet from a bar patron in the 100 block of West Main Street about 11 p.m. April 21 and using the victim’s credit card to illegally purchase items worth $217 at various locations in the Mon Valley. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges Monday in a summons.

SOUTH STRABANE

Counterfeit money: South Strabane police said a man who was accompanied by a woman and child passed six $50 bills at Target, Strabane Square. The man tried to use the bills at a self-checkout register, but the bills were not accepted. He then went to a cashier and used the bills to make about $280 in purchases and received about $20 in change. The group then fled in a silver Volkswagen in the direction of Route 19. Police said the car is registered to a Washington woman. They are continuing their investigation.
