Southpointe CEO Association merges with county chamber
The Southpointe CEO Association announced Thursday it is merging with Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
The merger, according to a news release from the chamber, will enable both entities “to align common missions, combine resources and advance the interests of their memberships.”
David Mariner, chairman of CEO Association, said in a prepared statement the move is part of the organization’s evolutionary process. “We wanted to merge into the chamber to not only strengthen our efforts, but also to take a broader interest in county’s economic development efforts.”
Under the agreement, CEO Association members will become chamber members, and the chamber will strive to expand the association’s programs.
Chamber president Jeff Kotula said in a statement: “The Southpointe CEO Association’s premier event, the World Class CEO Award, has been an important evening for Southpointe for years. The chamber has committed to continuing the event, improving it and opening it to our members for additional networking opportunities.”
The CEO Association was formed in 1997.
