Pennsylvania American Water Co. shut off a water main in the 800 block of Henderson Avenue in Canton Township after it ruptured Friday morning.

Canton Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dave Gump said the break in the 12-inch main was reported about 9:18 a.m. A crew from the water company was preparing to start work on the main, which is next to the Circle K gas station.

It wasn’t immediately known how long repairs would take, or how many customers would be affected.
