State Sen. Camera Bartolotta’s office will host a call-in “town hall meeting” Tuesday to discuss legislative efforts regarding property-tax changes.

Sen. David Argall, R-Schuylkill County, is the prime sponsor of Senate Bill 76. He will join Bartolotta, R-Carroll. The event will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.

Argall’s proposal would eliminate school property taxes – which account for the bulk of funding of Pennsylvania schools – except for taxes levied to cover districts’ old debt. It would make up for that revenue with increases in sales and personal-income taxes.

Those who wish to participate can sign up through a link at www.senatorbartolotta.com. Those with questions should contact Colleen Greer at 717-787-1463.
