Common Ground Teen Center to unveil new location
Washington Health System Teen Outreach will hold an open house for its Common Ground Teen Center’s new location from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the center, 92 N. Main St., Washington.
The Teen Center, which serves young people ages 13 to 18, is a safe place run by senior teens and supervised by Washington & Jefferson College students. The Teen Center is open from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday every week. Young people are welcome to drop in to talk and enjoy one another’s company. Interested teens will become members of the center. There is no fee for participation.
The center also operates the Refresh Program, which serves young people ages 18 to 25. Refresh is a place for relaxation, renewal and rejuvenation for transitional aged youth. Educational programming is offered regularly. Refresh is open from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Saturday from 4 p.m. to minight, and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. Refresh is a safe place and is open to the public. No fees are involved.
Original teen videos and an open mic presentation will occur from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today.
