CALIFORNIA

Faces more charges: Jason Nathaniel Perry, 33, of California, faces more charges to be filed against him by California police stemming from incidents last week. He will be charged with loitering and prowling at night after he allegedly was seen May 22 at the rear of a business he is accused of burglarizing last month. He also will be charged with misdemeanor retail theft for allegedly stealing beer from Campy’s Pizza, 153 Wood St., on May 23. Police charged him last week with retail theft after previous incidents. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

CECIL

Husband arrested: Donald J. Rash Jr., 46, of 11 Rockmore Drive, McDonald, was arrested Sunday by Cecil police on charges of strangulation and simple assault after he allegedly assaulted his wife during a confrontation at their home the previous day. She told police that he picked her up by the neck and threw her to the ground. He also allegedly punched and kicked her. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released from Washington County Jail after posting a $50,000 percentage bond. 

HANOVER

Man arraigned, waives case: Joseph A. Manni, 58, of 344 South Kings Creek Road, Burgettstown, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Gary Havelka and waived a preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after he allegedly tried to grab the hands of a Hanover police officer and shoved the officer during an April 9 incident at the police station. Manni was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

JEFFERSON

Indecent assault alleged: John Joseph Bertovich, 74, of 231 Meadowcroft Road, Washington, was charged last week by state police with indecent assault after he allegedly fondled a 60-year-old West Virginia woman who had taken her vehicle to him to get fixed on May 21. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.

NORTH STRABANE

Assault arrest: Robert Storme Robinson, 26, of 25 Shannon Ave., Washington, was arrested Sunday morning by North Strabane police on charges of strangulation, simple assault and unlawful restraint after he allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend at her apartment at 300 Burkett Lane. She told police that he choked her to the point she thought she was going to pass out. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County Jail on a $15,000 percentage bond.

SMITH

Driver charged: Abbey O’Leary, 21, of Coraopolis, was charged last week by Smith police with driving under the influence of alcohol by a minor and careless driving stemming from a Dec. 27 crash on Grant Street. Police said her vehicle slid on the road and rolled over. They said her blood-alcohol content was more than seven times the 0.02 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed in anyone under the age of 21. O’Leary was 20 at the time of the accident. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.

Charged in crash: Karen Andrews, 52, of 15 McNair Drive, Slovan, was charged last week by Smith police with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, failure to stop at the scene of a crash, leaving the scene of an accident and several traffic violations stemming from a two-vehicle crash April 27 at the intersection of Route 18 and Ostop Road. Police said she was under the influence of alcohol and had Suboxone in her system. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.

SOUTH STRABANE

Two charged: Billie A. Black, 36, and Peter V. Fanase, 34, both of 556 Homeville Road, Jefferson, have been charged by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing items from Target, Strabane Square, on April 6. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Indecent exposure alleged: Luis A. Hendez-Romero, 38, of 38 Martin Ave., Avella, was charged last week by South Strabane police with indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman as they both drove on Route 19 near Trinity Point Drive on May 10. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

ATM damaged: South Strabane police were called Saturday to Walmart, Trinity Point, after a man reportedly punched the screen of an ECO-ATM kiosk, rendering it inoperable. Surveillance shows a white man with tattoos on his neck and arms striking the machine. The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts and white shoes.

Forklifts damaged: An employee at Lowe’s, Strabane Square, told South Strabane police Monday that six forklifts were damaged at the store.

WASHINGTON

Warrant arrest: Benjamin Burgess, 34, of 280 Old Highland Ridge Road, Washington, was taken into custody on a Beaver County bench warrant after he was stopped Sunday night by Washington police for going through a stop sign. City police plan to charge him with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of paraphernalia and having an open container of alcohol, along with traffic offenses. He was placed in Washington County Jail on the warrant.

Three face charges: Priscilla Cottrill, 38, of 87 Murray Ave., Washington; Monica Jolly, 40, of 1165 Arch St., Washington, and Melissa Welsh, 44, of 705 Broad St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness stemming from a fight early Tuesday at Cottrill’s home. Jolly also will be charged with false identification to police.

Money stolen: Patricia Brodak of Allison Avenue told Washington police Monday that money was stolen from her home.

House burglarized: Jesse Flament of Broad Street told Washington police that his home was burglarized. Among the items stolen were clothing, a smart watch and $150. The burglar broke a window on a porch door to get into the house.

One injured: Stefanie Lenhart, 29, of 500 W. Wylie Ave., Canton Township, was injured when her vehicle and a vehicle driven by Eddie Bennett Jr., 74, of 42 Murtland Ave., Washington, collided Sunday morning at the intersection of West Chestnut Street and Jefferson Avenue, Washington police said. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.

Assault charges: Michelle Phillips, 49, of Claysville, is being charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault after she allegedly struck an employee at the PNC Bank branch at 201 Jefferson Ave. on May 3, police said. Police said Phillips came to the bank with two men to cash a check, but they were told the check could not be cashed. After leaving, Phillips and the two men came back to the bank, yelled at employees, and Phillips struck one employee in the face with the back of her hand, police said. Charges are being issued by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.   

WEST BROWNSVILLE

Hindering arrest: Jessica Marie Kovach, 42, of 703 Woodlawn Ave., West Brownsville, was arrested Saturday by state police on charges of hindering apprehension and resisting arrest for allegedly truing to stop troopers from taking Joshua Hale into custody on out-of-county bench warrants. She also allegedly struggled with troopers as they tried to take her into custody. She was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and released on a $15,000 unsecured bond.
