CECIL
Theft charge: Terry Kover, 49, of 45 First St., Slovan, was charged last week by Cecil police with theft after he allegedly stole a retractable lifeline tool from his employer while working May 7 at a construction site at 102 Cecil-Hendersonville Road. He allegedly put the tool in his lunch box to remove it from the site. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.
DUI, assault charges: Braden Matthew Bordo, 23, of 600 Highland Drive, Canonsburg, was charged last week by Cecil police in connection with a May 17 traffic stop on Network Drive. An officer reportedly spotted Bordo driving his motorcycle erratically down the middle of the street. After he was taken into custody, Bordo reportedly threatened to harm himself and was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. While in the cruiser, he allegedly tried to spit on one of the officers. He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, simple assault, disorderly conduct, not being properly licensed, not wearing headgear and not wearing eye protection. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.
DONEGAL
Husband charged: David Jacob McCrea, 48, of 44 Skeddle Lane, Donegal Township, was charged by Donegal police with simple assault after he allegedly struck his wife in the face during a confrontation at their home May 21. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
MONESSEN
Man jailed: Deshawn Chaz Barfield, 24, of 477 W. Chestnut St., Washington, is charged by city police with burglary, trespassing, drug possession and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Barfield of crawling through a window to enter the 627 S. 14th St. residence of his ex-girlfriend, Angelique McWilliams, about 1:35 p.m. Tuesday. Police also accuse him of having two stamp bags of heroin at the time of his arrest. Barfield was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $20,000 bond set Wednesday.
Pair jailed: A traffic stop about 5:20 p.m. May 24 resulted in charges against Breanne N. Schaum, 33, of 703 Henry St., North Belle Vernon, and William C. Stevenson, 48, of 207 Meadow Ave., Charleroi, court records show. Stevenson, the driver of the vehicle stopped at Page Street and Indiana Avenue, is charged by city police with resisting arrest, fleeing and possession of drug paraphernalia. Schaum is charged with tampering with evidence, disorderly conduct and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Stevenson was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $5,000 bond. Schaum was jailed on $2,000 bond.
MT. PLEASANT
Charged in crash: Wallace Jean Woodhouse, 60, of 66 Donley Road, Eighty Four, was charged this week by Mt. Pleasant police with DUI, damage to unattended property, false reports to police, resisting arrest and traffic violations after his pickup truck struck a utility pole in the 100 block of Caldwell Avenue May 6. Police said it appeared Woodhouse tried to drive away from the accident scene. Police said he denied being the driver, despite being found behind the wheel of the truck. He refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.
NORTH STRABANE
One injured: William Hodgson, 34, of 3101 Southern Drive, South Park, was injured when his vehicle crashed Monday afternoon in the 700 block of Waterdam Road, North Strabane police said. Police said he was driving west when his vehicle went off the road and rolled over. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment and a blood-alcohol test.
School bus crashes: No one was injured when a Canon-McMillan school bus with three high school students on board crashed about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday on Trotwood Drive, North Strabane police said. The bus, driven by Robert Spittka, 76, of Washington, collided with a car driven by Kayla Lynn Spina, 18, of North Strabane. The parents of the students were notified, police said.
ROSTRAVER
Pair arrested: Jens Kaaber Stoltze, 47, and Aldo Jose Corniel, 34, both of New York, are charged by state police with drug possession with intent to deliver, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse them of traveling with 45 pounds of marijuana when the vehicle Corniel was driving was pulled over on Interstate 70 in Rostraver Township about 3 a.m. Saturday. The are free on $50,000 bonds set by District Judge Charles Christner.
SOUTH STRABANE
Trespassing reported: The owner of Schweinebraten Bus Co., 1196 Locust Ave., told South Strabane police Tuesday a man trespassed on bus company property Sunday. A van is seen on surveillance entering the property. A man got out of the van and put a ladder against the building and climbed up. He then got back down, moved the van and drove around to where the buses are located before leaving the property. Police said they learned the identity of the intruder and attempted to contact him.
WASHINGTON
Windshield broken: Helen Kidwell told Washington police early Wednesday vandals damaged her Nissan Altima while it was parked near her home in the 1000 block of Fayette Street. The front windshield and the back and driver’s side windows were broken. The vehicle also was dented, and the front bumper was torn off.
Truck damaged: Ray Cappelli of 610 Jefferson Ave. told Washington police Tuesday the ignition on his Ford truck was damaged while it was parked in the 10 block of Fourth Street.
Marijuana charges: Benjamin W. Burgess, 34, of Buffalo Township, was charged by Washington police with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police said they found him sleeping in his car Nov. 4 in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue.
