Winter weather advisory issued

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for southwestern Pennsylvania through 7 p.m. today.
Its forecast for the early morning of a wintry mix of snow, rain and ice prompted many area school districts to delay the start of classes.
Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze up to one tenth of an inch were expected in municipalities that include Washington, Canonsburg and Waynesburg, the weather service said.
