CANONSBURG

Residential fire: A Canonsburg police officer was the first on scene of a residential fire early Wednesday morning. Officer Brian Dapra reported the fire started about 3:45 a.m. in a home at 408 Greenside Ave. He went inside to make sure everyone was out of the building and saw flames coming from the front of the residence. According to his report, he then went to his vehicle to retrieve a fire extinguisher, went back inside and put out the fire. Canonsburg firefighters also responded to the scene to assist Dapra in making sure the fire was out.
