CANONSBURG
Man charged: Borough police charged Duane E. Patterson, 22, of South Strabane Township with simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident Saturday morning. Patterson’s girlfriend told police he’d allegedly been drinking when he attacked her, striking her face and body, at her apartment on Smith Street. The right side of the victim’s face was red and swollen. Patterson was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit, who set bond at $5,000.
CHARTIERS
Drug charges: Matthew R. Phillips, 24, of Canton Township was charged by Chartiers police Saturday with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers allegedly found 10 unopened stamp bags of heroin and 17 more empty ones, all marked “GUCCI,” after they approached a van in which Phillips appeared to have been sleeping while it idled in Washington Estates mobile home park. Phillips was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and freed on $5,000 unsecured bond.
NORTH CHARLEROI
Man jailed: Chartiers Regional police Sunday charged Myles Liston, 42, of Rostraver Township with cocaine-related counts and other offenses, including theft, tampering with evidence, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident at his girlfriend’s house on the 500 block of Isabella Avenue. Liston was being held in the Washinton County jail on $25,000 percentage bond set by District Judge Jesse Pettit.
SOUTH STRABANE
One hurt: One driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 70, state police said. A vehicle driven by James Patterson, 39, hit the rear of a vehicle that had slowed in traffic driven by Singh Amandeep Pal, 37. The drivers’ addresses were not available. Patterson was taken by helicopter to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital. Pal was not hurt.
Retail theft: Township police responded to Walmart in Trinity Point for a report a woman had used a self-checkout register and failed to pay for $180 in items on her way out of the store Wednesday. Police said they’d identified her and expected to charge her with retail theft.
WASHINGTON
Fleeing charge: Eric Scott Carrell, 25, of Houston, faces charges after he allegedly led state police on a chase after they attempted to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday. Police attempted to stop him on Baird Avenue, and pursued his vehicle for several blocks before Carrell stopped and ran. He was apprehended a short distance away. Police said they found drugs and paraphernalia on him. He was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit on charges of driving under the influence, fleeing, flight to avoid apprehension, possession of marijauna, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and driving with a suspended license. He was placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.
Assault charges: Joshua D. Jimenez, 34, of Washington was charged by city police with two counts each of simple assault and harassment in connection with allegations he attacked two family members. Jimenez was held in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Jesse Pettit.
Theft charge: Brandon J. Templeton, 32, of Washington was charged with theft, theft from a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct Friday. Police said Templeton allegedly stole four Kid Rock CDs from someone else’s parked vehicle on nearby Wilson Avenue. Templeton was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and jailed on $2,500 bond.
