A McDonald man is facing multiple charges following two alleged domestic incidents over the weekend.

Mt. Pleasant Township police charged Chad Anthony DeJohn, 37, with simple assault, flight to avoid apprehension, harassment and disorderly conduct after a domestic dispute Friday evening outside his parents’ residence at 12 Fort Cherry Road.

Police said DeJohn had been dropping off his child at his parents’ home when a woman, Rennae Ott, took the child from him and put the child in her car. DeJohn then allegedly pulled her by the hair, hit her, threw her on the ground and urinated on her, according to the criminal complaint.

Police said DeJohn fled on foot, and multiple police departments searched the area for him. Ott’s and DeJohn’s relationship was not disclosed in the criminal complaint.

On Sunday morning, state police responded to 6 North Main St. in Ellsworth for a report of a domestic dispute. DeJohn allegedly had assaulted Ott again, resulting in her having a bloody lip and a wrist injury. Ott told police that DeJohn was upset with her “because she hadn’t gone grocery shopping and the house was messy.”

Police said Ott refused to offer additional information about the assault and would not provide police with a written statement.

Police charged DeJohn in the second case with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned Monday afternoon before District Judge Gary Havelka and jailed on $10,000 bond.
