Canonsburg’s proposed budget for 2019 includes no increase in real estate taxes.

The $5.3 million spending plan is about $60,000 larger that this year’s spread.

“I think there were just little changes, contractual changes,” said borough manager Denise Lesnock. “With health insurance, we budgeted a 5 percent increase.”

The real estate millage rate will remain at 3.94 mills, or $394 in taxes for every $100,000 in assessed value. Most – 3.21 mills – goes into the general fund. The remnant goes into special funds for roads, fire department equipment, debt service and parks and recreation.

Lesnock said the final vote on the budget is expected Dec. 10.
