FRANKLIN
Three-vehicle crash: No one was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash that closed Route 21 near Ed Rice Road in Franklin Township for about an hour Tuesday night. State police said William Matthews, 70, of Waynesburg, was driving west shortly after 5:30 p.m. when he lost control and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Kurt Krigar, 23, of Prospect. Police said Krigar’s vehicle then hit a car driven by Thomas Friend, 45, of McClellandtown. Matthews was treated at the scene for a minor injury. All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
JACKSON
Tools stolen: State police said someone entered a residence in the 1600 block of Toms Run Road in Jackson Township and stole $2,100 worth of tools between Nov. 8 and 12.
JEFFERSON
Theft charge: Dustin Franklin Virgili, 29, of 51 Short St., Mather, was charged with theft by unlawful taking after state police said he went to the Golden Dragon restaurant at 989 N. Eighty-Eight Road in Jefferson Township Nov. 21 and took the cash register. Police said he then left the store, but dropped the cash register outside while being chased by store employees. Troopers later located him and he allegedly admitted to attempting to steal the register, according to court documents.
