A portion of Route 22 West in Hanover Township was temporarily closed Friday morning because a crane that a truck was hauling caught fire, a Washington County 911 supervisor said.

The supervisor said the fire was reported just before 10 a.m. The truck carrying the crane was traveling west on the highway near the Florence/Burgettstown exit when the incident occurred.

Dispatchers weren’t aware of any reported injuries.

“We’ve not had any transports,” the supervisor said, adding that EMS personnel were on the scene.
