Washington Business District Authority, Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce and Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce have organized a “Prepare Your Business For Small Business Saturday Workshop.” It will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at Washington Brewing Co., 28 E Maiden St., Washington.

Small Business Saturday will be Nov. 24 – two days after Thanksgiving – and will help kick off the holiday shopping season.

Representatives of the University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center will discuss trends and tips for shops. A panel will include representatives from Washington Winery (Washington), Broad Avenue Treasure (Belle Vernon) and Prima Diva (Charleroi).

“Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity for local businesses to connect with shoppers who may not otherwise walk through their doors,” said Victoria Hassett, of Pitt’s SBDC. “It’s often the highest grossing sales day of the year, accounting for roughly $12 billion last year, but it’s a great way to build a repeat customer base.”

The workshop is free. Register online via eventbrite or call Will Prince, Main Street manager of the Washington WBDA, at 724-288-7156.
