Rostraver to hold recycling events
Each household in Rostraver Township will be allowed to drop off up to three electronic items on one of these dates: Sept. 28 from noon to 8 p.m.; Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rostraver Township Road Department Building, 129 Recreation Drive.
Township employees will be on site to help unload. Photo ID must be provided for proof of township residency. Items that can be dropped off include any size TV, microwaves, printers, electric typewriters, copiers, fax/copy machines/duplicators, CPUs/towers, laptops, computer monitors-CRT and LED/LCD and peripherals (mouse, keyboards, speakers).
A computer with monitor-tower-keyboard-mouse-speakers may be combined to equal one item
Household hazardous waste will not be accepted.
Ortitay to hold health expo
State Rep. Jason Ortitay, R-South Fayette, will hold his fourth annual Senior Health Expo from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 740 Washington Ave., Bridgeville.
Onsite health screenings will be offered and light refreshments and prizes will be available. Flu and pneumonia shots will also be offered at no charge for those with Medicare cards.

Cook to hold town hall in California
State Rep. Bud Cook, R-Daisytown, will hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 in the California Area High School auditorium, 11 Trojan Way, California. In addition to Cook, panel members are expected to include borough council members, school board members and township supervisors. To register, call Cook’s office at 724-669-2242.
Interstate 79 restrictions planned
Bridge inspection work will be done on southbound Interstate 79 in Collier Township, Allegheny County, Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
Single-lane restrictions will occur as needed on I-79 south on the bridge over Robinson Run just north of the Carnegie interchange from 6 a.m. to noon each day.
Crews from the Larson Design Group will conduct the inspection work.
