CANONSBURG
Injured in crash: Police said Diane Wesling, 60, of Railroad Street, McDonald, was injured Friday night when the motorcycle operated by her 57-year-old husband, John Wesling, was hit by a vehicle driven by Maria Rodgers-Wallace, 44, of John Avenue, Canonsburg, at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Euclid Street. John Wesling told police that the driver of the other vehicle cut him off and then left the scene. Police said Rodgers-Wallace reportedly went to the Canonsburg Hospital emergency room with her son, telling staff she had just hit a motorcycle. It was not clear if her son was hurt in the crash. Diane Wesling was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Rodgers-Wallace will be charged with leaving the scene of a crash and failure to render aid.
CANTON
Assault arrest: Louis A. Cruz Sr., 22, of 60 Bel Air Drive, Canton, was arrested Saturday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched a woman in the face several times during an incident at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
HANOVER
Assault charges: Ronald W. Fleeger, 46, of Slippery Rock, was arrested Friday night by Hanover police after he allegedly assaulted a woman, also from Slippery Rock, on a walkway at KeyBank Pavilion. He allegedly hit her several times in the face. Fleeger was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was released from Washington County Jail after posting $10,000 bond.
NORTH FRANKLIN
Assault charge: Christopher Scott Smith, 38, of 341 Cleveland Road, Washington, was charged by North Franklin police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched a man in the head several times while at his residence Saturday evening. Police said the victim was taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital for injuries.
Retail theft charge: Sara Marie Bredniak, 29, 600 Penn Ave., Washington, was charged by North Franklin police with three counts of felony retail theft after she allegedly stole more than $600 worth of merchandise from Marshall’s on West Chestnut Street, on three different occasions in August. Police said on Aug. 11, 13 and 24, Bredniak stole about $620 in merchandise. Police said she has five prior retail theft convictions.
NORTH STRABANE
Driver arrested: Sarah Rose Taylor, 45, of Steubenville, Ohio, was arrested Saturday afternoon by North Strabane police after she allegedly crashed her vehicle into a vehicle driven by Daniel Edward Bosi, 28, of Bethel Park, on Route 19 northbound at Weavertown Road. Taylor allegedly fled and was stopped by Peters police. Police said Taylor admitted to taking Xanax. Taylor was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, damage to attended property, careless driving, failure to render aid and not having insurance. She was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
PETERS
Woman arrested: Mary Gubala, 55, of 130 Elm Drive, McMurray, was arrested Friday morning by Peters police after she allegedly hit her husband in the face during a confrontation at their home. She was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit on a charge of simple assault and released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Harassment alleged: Tara Stankowski, 44, of 348 Country Club Road, South Strabane, will be charged by township police with harassment after she allegedly pushed a small decorative item into the face of a 58-year-old Carnegie woman during a confrontation at Stankowski’s home on Saturday.
Bogus cashier’s check used: An employee of Jared’s Vault, Tanger Outlets, told South Strabane police Saturday that a woman used a bogus cashier’s check for $15,000 to make a $9,000 purchase.
UNION
PFA violation alleged: Samantha Najman Curry-Battle, 36, of 313 Third St., Donora, was arrested after she allegedly went to a home at 13 Mingo Circle Drive, Union, on Saturday in violation of a protection-from-abuse order. She was arrested by Monongahela police. Curry-Battle was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
WASHINGTON
Head-on crash: Louis McDavitt, 27, of South Park, will be charged by Washington police with driving under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly crashed his vehicle head-on into a vehicle driven by Stacey A. Sinko, 50, of Bentleyville, just after 10 p.m. Sunday. The crash happened in front of 15 Murtland Ave. Police said McDavitt was too intoxicated to perform a field-sobriety test. He was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his alcohol level.
Debit card stolen: Patricia Moore told Washington police Sunday that her debit card was stolen from her East Beau Street home and used to withdraw $223.
Medication stolen: James Grayson of Ridge Avenue told Washington police Saturday that his prescription pain medication was stolen from his home. He told police there were about 100 pills in the bottle.
Tires slashed: Margaret Sadler of East Hallam Avenue told Washington police Saturday that tires on the driver’s side of her two vehicles were slashed by vandals.
Wallet stolen: Pietro Pedune of East Hallam Avenue told Washington police that his wallet containing $18.90 and a debit card was stolen from his home.
Television stolen: Robert Dayton of 100 S. Franklin St. told Washington police that his 45-inch television was stolen from his home.
Ladders stolen: Mike Lynch of Canton Township told Washington police Friday that a 17-foot scaffolding ladder and 12-foot ladder were stolen from outside 1090 Jefferson Ave. Lynch had been working at the building.
