Deceptive business practices charge: Richard Nesto Jr., 39, of 23 Circle St., Mather, was charged Thursday with deceptive business practices and two counts of theft from an incident that dates to 2016. Nesto cashed a check for $2,000 Sept. 17, 2016, to install a roof at a Mather residence and did not start the work.

WAYNESBURG

Flight to avoid apprehension charge: Larissa Sue Jones, 20, no address, was charged Friday with flight to avoid apprehension from a May 18 incident in which state police said they were searching for her while she was wanted on theft charges. Police spotted a vehicle she was riding in heading toward Waynesburg, which later was located on Lincoln Street. A passenger said Jones and another man ran away. Jones was found hiding in a basement dryer at 154 S. Cumberland St.
