Canton woman arraigned on drug, prostitution charges
A Canton Township woman is in Washington County jail on charges including drug possession and prostitution in separate cases filed against her by Washington police and Washington County Drug Task Force.
Christina Marth, 37, of 30 Ward St., is charged by the task force with indecent assault, prostitution, having a prohibited offensive weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing instruments of a crime. Washington police charged her with possession of crack and paraphernalia and flight to avoid apprehension.
A task force detective charged her during an undercover prostitution investigation in Washington May 15. She was walking in an area known for prostitution when she waved at one of the undercover officers. He pulled over and she got into his vehicle.
Marth reportedly reached over and fondled him. As they drove, she asked if he was a police officer. Marth reportedly became spooked and asked to be let out of the vehicle. The officer spotted Marth again a short time later walking up Hall Avenue. She again got into his vehicle and started to fondle him. He asked if she was working and Marth reportedly responded “yes.”
The two drove to another area in Washington. Marth reportedly got condoms out of her purse and placed it on the seat. When she began taking off her clothes, he identified himself as an undercover detective and took her into custody. During a search, Marth was found with used needles and paraphernalia.
City police charged Marth after getting a report of a woman who appeared to be on drugs in the area of Donnan Avenue and Bruce Street. When she saw police, Marth ran from the area. Police said they recovered paraphernalia and crack she had left on the ground.
Marth was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on $20,000 bond. She is scheduled for an Oct. 10 preliminary hearing before Redlinger.
