Burgettstown High School to remain closed Monday
Burgettstown Area Superintendent James Walsh said Saturday afternoon that the middle and high schools would remain closed Monday.
In a recorded message to district families, Walsh said that school would remain closed because the “air quality testing and remediation company have not certified the high school building for re-occupancy.”
After complaints from parents, teachers and students last week, air quality tests were done in both the high school and elementary buildings. School was canceled district-wide Monday because those results were not yet received. Students in the elementary center were cleared to return Tuesday, but the high school and middle school remained closed through the week for a restoration company to clean.
Walsh said that work will continue through the weekend, and that another air quality test would be done Monday. He expected to contact district families with those results Monday afternoon or evening.
