Police Beat Sept. 29
CANONSBURG
Criminal trespass charge: Johnathon Deon Williams, 26, of 509 Elm St., Canonsburg, was charged by Canonsburg police with loitering and prowling at night, criminal mischief and public drunkenness after he allegedly was caught on the roof of a Hutchinson Avenue home earlier this month. Police said a woman called them at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 4 to report a man was on her roof near her 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom window. The woman told police the family dog started barking and her daughter said she heard a noise outside. The woman looked out the blinds of her daughter’s window and saw the man on the roof. Police said they detained Williams, who matched the description, as he was walking down Hutchinson shortly after. Police said he appeared to be intoxicated.
Crash: Maria Rogers Williams, 44, of 135 John Drive, Canonsburg, was charged by Canonsburg police with failing to stop and provide information at an accident that involved injuries following a motorcycle crash Sept. 7 at Adams Avenue and Euclid Avenue. Police said Williams had been driving recklessly behind the motorcycle and struck it while trying to pass it. The bike and riders, John and Diane Wesling, went down. The Weslings suffered injuries to their legs, back and shoulder. Police said Williams stopped long enough to tell the Weslings she had to take her son to the emergency room. The Weslings were treated at Canonsburg Hospital.
Criminal mischief charge: Laura Ann Schwimer, 35, of 208 Quail Run Road, Venetia, was charged by Canonsburg police with criminal mischief after she allegedly used a black marker to vandalize a car parked in the 300 block of Grace Avenue. Police said Schwimer wrote a profanity on the car and kicked dents into it, causing about $1,786 in damage.
CANTON
Assault charge: Tracy Lynn Belfiore, 40, of 2051 The Circle, Canton Township, was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly got into a physical altercation at her residence with her daughter, Elizabeth Belfiore. Police said about 5 p.m. Thursday, Elizabeth Belfiore allegedly tried to punch her mother. Tracy Belfiore then allegedly struck her daughter in the face while she was holding her 2-year-old child. Police said Elizabeth Belfiore will be charged with harassment.
Strangulation charge: Michael Gerald Daniel Cole, 29, of 8029 Golder Ave., Odessa, was charged by state police with strangulation, simple assault and harassment after he allegedly fought with his wife in a hotel room Thursday morning at 975 Sheffield St. Police said while Cole and his wife argued in the kitchen, he burned his hand on hot, spilled food. He then allegedly grabbed his wife and pushed her, before grabbing her by the throat, choking her and pushing her against the wall. Cole was arraigned Friday morning by District Judge Tracy McDonald-Kemp and jailed on $30,000 bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Forgery charge: Brandon Lee Johnson, 37, of Arkansas, was charged by South Strabane Township police with forgery and theft after he allegedly altered a check he received in July, adding $1,000 to the original $360 amount. Police said Johnson cashed the check July 27 at the PNC Bank in the 300 block of Washington Road.
