Water tanker truck rolls over on Route 19 near Waynesburg
A water tanker truck rolled over an embankment on Route 19 in Franklin Township Monday evening.
State police reported the driver, James A. McGrew, 57, of Stockport, Ohio, was taken by EMS Southwest to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. The severity of his injuries was unknown.
Police said McGrew was headed south just before Country Lane about 6:42 p.m., when he lost control on a turn. Police said the truck overturned onto the driver’s side, struck the guardrail and rolled about 25 feet down the embankment.
Waynesburg Fire Chief Jeff Marshall said McGrew was able to get out of the vehicle on his own and was responsive at the scene.
