The Washington County commissioners on Thursday approved a labor arbitrator’s decision on a contract between the Washington County Deputy Sheriff’s Association and the county.

The four-year, retroactive contract calls for a 3 percent raise last year, a 3.25 percent raise this year and next, and a 2.75 percent raise in 2021.

This year, employee contributions to health insurance will be 11 percent. That rises to 12 percent in 2020 and 12.5 percent in 2021.

The contract covers 27 workers classified as deputy sheriff I, II and III, whose contract expired Dec. 31, 2017.
