BENTLEYVILLE

Trio charged with assault: Kristen Gray, 26, of 909 Old West Road, Val William Smith, 21, of Charleroi, and Thomas Tyler Swanson, 19, of 229 Wilson Road, Charleroi, were charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment by borough police this week. According to the criminal complaint, on the evening of Feb. 27, Gray had called Smith, her current boyfriend, and Swanson, her ex-boyfriend, to her residence, setting up a fight between them. Police said Smith had multiple contusions to his face and was bleeding from multiple open wounds. Both Gray and Swanson were charged for assaulting Smith. A preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.

CANONSBURG

Assault alleged: Matthew Donald Kline, Jr., 24, of 1664 Avella Road, Avella, was charged with simple assault and harassment by borough police. According to the criminal complaint, Kline shoved a woman and threw a glass at her head. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 25 before District Judge David Mark.

SOMERSET

Drug charges: Ryan Thomas Emery, 41, of 150 St. Cloud Road, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia by state police Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint, Emery was found unconscious in his running vehicle in the 700 block of Route 519. Police said he displayed signs of impairment. According to the complaint, police found a bag containing needles and stamp bags of suspected heroin in the car, as well as pills. A preliminary hearing is yet to be scheduled.

Man charged: Lawrence R. Gaso, 74, of 952 Carlton Drive, Somerset Township, is charged by state police with trespassing over allegations he went about 6:15 p.m. March 10 to AdultMart, 8 McIlvaine Road, after being served notice that he is not welcome there, court records show. Police filed the charge Tuesday before District Judge Curtis Thompson.
