Electronics collection scheduled in Greene
State Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson, and the Greene County commissioners are offering an electronics collection event from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
Only one television per vehicle can be accepted, and some waste-handling fees will apply for items containing Freon and for fluorescent tubes.
Electronic items that will be accepted include computers – including laptops, printers and monitors – stereos, cameras, videocassette recorders, telephones, electronic cables, games and calculators.
Items that will not be accepted include sweepers, hair dryers, curling irons, sewing machines, compact discs, alkaline batteries, small kitchen appliances, smoke detectors, thermostats, manuals, paper and Styrofoam.
An additional electronic collections event is scheduled for Sept. 25 (same time and location). Greene County residents with questions can call Snyder’s Carmichaels office at 724-966-8953.
