MONONGAHELA

Crash injuries: Three people sustained what state police described as “suspected serious” injuries following a two-vehicle accident Friday in Monongahela Township, Greene County. Barbara J. Wiercioch, 72, and Edward F. Wiercioch, 75, both of Finleyville, were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. (It is not known whether they are related.) Frank R. Kiger, 44, of Waynesburg, was taken to an unknown destination. Police said Kiger, who was alone, was traveling north on Route 88 a little before 4 p.m. when the other vehicle, operated by Barbara Wiercioch and occupied by Edward Wiercioch, “failed to properly stop” at the stop sign and pulled out from Stoney Hill Road. The vehicles collided on Route 88, and both continued on to strike the Community Bank branch nearby.
