Crash injury: State police reported that John M. McElhaney, 63, of Kennerdell, Venango County, received a suspected head injury and was transported to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, following a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning. Details on his condition Saturday were not immediately available. According to police, McElhaney was driving a vehicle in the left lane of Interstate 70 westbound, near the exit 16 ramp, a little after midnight when it drifted into the right lane and struck the driver’s side of a vehicle operated by Amritpal Singh, 27. The first vehicle, according to the report, continued moving to the right, onto the shoulder near the ramp, then struck an embankment, trees and shrubbery. McElhaney, who was charged with careless driving, was transported to the hospital by Washington Ambulance and Chair. His passenger – Cameron J. Works, 26, of Pittsburgh – and Singh were uninjured, according to police.
