Cecil seeks to repair park bridges
Cecil Township is planning to undertake a bridge rehabilitation project to address deteriorating bridges in Cecil Park.
Supervisors Monday authorized township manager Don Gennuso to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for the repair of three or four bridges within the park.
Gennuso said the steel bridges have been in need of upgrading, and one of the four currently is closed until it can be repaired.
The estimated cost for repair work has not yet been determined.
In other business, supervisors:
- Approved a request by Independent Excavating to work a night shift schedule to complete work on the Southern Beltway project near the Morganza Road corridor. Supervisors approved the request on a temporary basis, pending they receive no complaints from residents about the overnight work.
- Authorized police Chief Shawn Bukovinsky to begin the process to hire two full-time p
- olice officers, who will join the 21-member police force.
