KeyBank will be closing two area branches May 3.
Michael Conlin, spokesman for the Cleveland-based bank, has confirmed that it will shut down locations in Finleyville (3500 Extension Ave.) and Smithton (713 Peer St.). He added that this is part of a corporate consolidation plan that began last year.
“We review operations just as any business does,” Conlin said. “We are seeing (consolidations) happening throughout this industry.”
A number of banks have shuttered branches in Western Pennsylvania in recent years.
Customer accounts from these branches will be consolidated elsewhere. Accounts from Finleyville will be switched to the Hillcrest branch at 4996 Library Road (Route 88) in Bethel Park. Those from Smithton will go to 100 Countryside Plaza, Mount Pleasant.
