CUMBERLAND

Terroristic threats: John Joseph Petrus, 62, of 201 Parkview Knoll, Carmichaels, was charged Friday with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment after Cumberland Township police said he shouted threatening remarks at an officer while she attempted to question him at his apartment about a theft earlier at Shop ‘n Save in the township. Police said Petrus said “no wonder you pigs get shot” and several other slurs against the officer.

Stolen handgun: Cumberland Township police charged Austin Frederick Thomas, 18, of 15 Biddle Acres, Carmichaels, with possession of a firearm with altered serial number and possession of a firearm without a license after officers said he was found with a stolen handgun at his residence. Thomas said he purchased the gun for $200 and did not know it was reported stolen.
