Bartolotta to lead Labor and Industry Committee
State Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll Township,has been appointed to serve as chair of the Senate Labor and Industry Committee for the 2019-20 legislative session.
The committee is responsible for considering a wide range of issues pertaining to both employers and employees, including worker’s compensation, unemployment compensation, workplace safety, building codes and workforce development.
Bartolotta said that one area of interest for the committee will be job training and other programs designed to ensure Pennsylvania workers have the skills necessary to pursue family-sustaining jobs.
“When I speak with community residents throughout the region about the issues they care about most, jobs and the economy are some of the biggest topics of conversation,” Bartolotta said. “Workforce development is one of the most important factors that employers consider when deciding where to expand or relocate.”
