Man jailed in assault on hospital worker
An Indiana, Pa., man was jailed after allegedly attacking a nursing assistant at Washington Hospital Saturday.
Washington Health System police arrested Gino M. Dollison, 19, of 352 Grant St., after he allegedly attacked a nursing assistant and made threats to other staff members. Police said Dollison had become agitated and tried to enter the nursing station, but the nursing assistant blocked the door to prevent him.
Police said Dollison started to make threats to the staff before rushing the nurses station and attacking the nursing assistant. The nursing assistant was evaluated in the emergency room for lacerations on his arm that required stitches, cuts on his hand and contusions on the back of his head.
Dollison was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned Sunday morning by District Judge Joshua Kanalis and jailed on $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Jan. 16.
