State police filed charges against a Washington County man based on a preteen girl’s account that he’d repeatedly raped her.

Michael G. Stienstraw Jr., 32, was charged Wednesday with counts of rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, corruption of minors, making terroristic threats and indecent assault. A trooper wrote in court papers that he interviewed the alleged victim at a Pittsburgh hospital Dec. 31, two days after the victim told her mother about the alleged abuse.

The victim reported “numerous” sexual assaults that purportedly started a year earlier, court papers said. She only recalled specifics of three instances between June and December at locations in North Franklin and Morris townships.

Court papers didn’t list a current street address for Stienstraw, or an attorney representing him. He was being held in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond set by District Judge Gary Havelka.
