NORTH FRANKLIN

Criminal mischief: Anita M. Lehew, 59, of 545 Hiawatha Road, Prosperity, was charged by state police with criminal mischief and harassment following an incident Jan. 2 at a residence in the 2800 block of Wilson Street. Police said Lehew allegedly took Christmas wreaths off a resident’s door before doing $1,200 worth of damage to the resident’s vehicle.

NORTH STRABANE

Crash: A jackknifed tractor-trailer on Route 519 had both lanes shut down for about three hours Friday morning. Township police reported that just before 7 a.m., the driver, Brandon M. Robertson, 25, of Washington, was traveling north in the 1700 block when he had to brake suddenly due to slowed traffic. The truck then jackknifed and began to leak fuel on the road. Police said Robertson was not injured, but the northbound lane was closed for six hours while emergency crews cleaned up the spill.

SOUTH STRABANE

Thefts from vehicles: A resident in the 400 block of Independence Boulevard reported to township police about $35 in change was stolen from his vehicle overnight from Thursday to Friday. About the same time, a resident in the 1200 block of Willowbrook Drive reported a $1,600 bracelet was stolen from his car.

Trespass charges: Two out-of-town people were charged by Washington & Jefferson College police with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after they allegedly refused to leave campus Jan. 6. Police said Declan James Haggerty, 23, of Scranton, and Nicholas H. Kumburis, 23, of New Jersey, appeared to be intoxicated and were fighting about 1:40 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street. Police said neither is a student, and they were ordered multiple times to leave campus. Kumburis was additionally charged with obstruction of law administration.

Trespass charge: Ronald Henry Slater III, 26, of 175 Brookside Ave., Washington, was charged by Washington police with criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to a residence in the 200 block of West Chestnut Street Thursday afternoon. Police said Slater had broken into a locked apartment complex and was in the laundry room, which was also locked. Police said when they found him, his belongings were strewn across the washing machine, and he allegedly was in possession of crack and a crack pipe.
