A McMurray man was jailed after allegedly breaking into a Peters Township home earlier this month and stealing more than $7,000 in jewelry along with guns, electronics and power tools.

Noah Aloysius Farkas, 27, of 123 Elm Grove Drive, allegedly was seen by several neighbors walking around his street as well as Thompsonville Road and Maplewood Drive Jan. 4.

A home on Thompsonville Road was burglarized that day between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Police said Farkas allegedly stole $7,375 in jewelry from the home, along with a gun safe and two handguns. Also stolen from the home were power tools, $2,650 in electronics, numerous video games and $950 in cash and gift cards.

Police said Monday, Farkas sold some of the jewelry to a pawn shop in Pittsburgh, where the victims were able to identify the items.

Police then conducted a search of Farkas’ residence and found several of the other items that had been stolen.

Farkas was charged with receiving stolen property, burglary and theft. He was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Jesse Pettit and jailed on $100,000 bond.
