DONORA – A Donora man tried Wednesday to break into a residence where he had assaulted two women two days earlier, police allege.

Donora police also accused the suspect, Westley D. Sloan, 29, of trying to break into a second house with a snow shovel early Thursday before officers took him into custody.

Sloan was accused of pinning his girlfriend, Kisiah Thomas, against a wall at 420 Second St. about 1:30 p.m. Monday. He also was accused of shoving Lattorrie Vince-Thomas onto a couch and striking her several times in the head when she intervened in the other assault, police stated in the affidavit.

He also was accused of returning about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday to 420 Second St. and breaking a front door in an attempt to get inside the residence, court records allege.

Borough police said Sloan was gone when officers arrived there, but they were then sent to 558 Thompson Ave. for a report about a man attempting to break into that residence.

The resident on Thompson, Gilbert Szakal, said he didn’t know Sloan, who allegedly was kicking his door and trying to break a window with the shovel.

Police said officers took Sloan to the ground there to take him into custody.

Sloan, of 117 Allen Ave., is charged with burglary, trespassing, intimidation of a witness, criminal mischief, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

District Judge Jesse Pettit send Sloan to Washington County jail Thursday on $100,000 bond.
