Two Waynesburg women were arrested after reportedly leading police on a 20-minute pursuit with speeds exceeding 120 mph early Wednesday.

Driver Megan Marie Adams, 26, and vehicle owner Jaclyn Nicole Farabee, 24, were first spotted speeding on North Gallatin Avenue near its intersection with Bute Road in North Union Township at about 2:15 a.m., police said.

Adams had an active arrest warrant, according to state police.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Adams was driving 80 mph and immediately accelerated when a state police trooper activated his lights and sirens. The pursuit continued through Uniontown and South Union, German and Georges townships. The chase ended when Adams turned down a dirt road after missing a turn and police used a pursuit intervention technique.

Adams was found bleeding from the neck, and reportedly told police she injected suboxone during the pursuit because she knew she was going to jail. She was allegedly found with crack and paraphernalia. Empty stamp bags were in view in the car, police said.

Right before the pursuit ended, police said a bag was thrown onto Walnut Hill Road from the passenger side of the vehicle. It was found to be empty, court paperwork said.

Police said Adams endangered other vehicles on the road and often drove in the opposite lane of travel.

Adams is charged with flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and dozens of traffic citations. Farabee is charged with hindering apprehension, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and additional summary charges.

They were arraigned by District Judge Jennifer Jeffries and placed in Fayette County Prison. Adams is jailed on $15,000 bail and Farabee is jailed on $10,000 bail.
