A West Virginia man and two children were flown to Pittsburgh following a crash on Interstate 79 in South Strabane Township Thursday night.

Samuel Aloi, 48, of Bridgeport, W.Va., was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, while two boys, whom police did not identify, were taken to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Their conditions were not immediately available.

According to police, at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aloi was driving his Toyota Sienna, with the children as passengers, in the right lane on I-79 southbound.

Near mile marker 33, police said Aloi struck a Peterbilt 379 in the rear. The impact caused heavy front-end damage to Aloi’s vehicle.

The Peterbilt was operated by Ike Ingram, 32, of Orlando, Fla., who was not injured.

Aloi will be charged with following too closely, according to police.
