Drug charges: James Amonette, 26, of 211 Parkview Knoll, was charged by township police with theft after he allegedly promised to sell his cousin subutex, but instead took the money and ran. Police said they were called to the apartment complex about 7:30 p.m. May 24 for a report of a man banging on doors and yelling. Police said the man was Amonette’s cousin Eric Knisley, who told police that he gave Amonette $30 for the subutex just before Amonette allegedly ran back inside his residence and locked the door. Police took Knisley into custody for multiple bench warrants.
Drug charges: Joshua David Tankalavage, 20, of Hopwood, and Chaze Tariq Eddings, 21, of Brownsville, are both facing charges in connection with a traffic stop last September on Ceylon Road. Township police said that on Sept. 26, they stopped driver Tankalavage, and discovered a bag of marijuana under his seat. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Eddings had arrest warrants out of Fayette and Allegheny counties. Police said they also found Eddings to be in possession of marijuana, Suboxone and a digital scale. Police charged him with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Illegal weapons charge: Ashley Nicole Cumberland, 27, of 203 Blaney Hollow Road, Smithfield, was charged by township police with possession of an offensive weapon and driving under suspension, following a traffic stop May 10 at the intersection of Nemacolin Way and Eighty Eight Road. Police said Cumberland had brass knuckles in her purse.
Drug charges: Shane Hoffman, 24, of 300 E. Greene St., Cumberland Township, was charged by township police with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident last year. Police said they saw Hoffman walking along Ceylon Road and knew he had warrants for his arrest. Police said they found him to be in possession of marijuana and amphetamine tablets.
Drug charges: Jennifer L. Crilly, 37, of 106 Jolinda Drive, was charged by township police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness following an incident last summer. Police said they arrested Crilly Aug. 19 after she allegedly appeared under the influence in her neighbor’s yard while trying to get into vehicles. Police said they found Crilly in possession of seven Alprazolam tablets.
