Burgettstown High School will graduate 76 students at commencement at 7 p.m. Monday at KeyBank Pavilion.

Emma Gragan is valedictorian, and Brandon Lounder, salutatorian. Honor graduates are Ashley Cunningham, Scott Ferris, Erin Smith, Madison Tournay and Abby Angus.

Gragan is the daughter of Paige and Michael Gragan of Burgettstown. She was class co-president, and a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Women’s Student Union, Asian Culture Club, Prom Committee and chorus.

She was a Zonta Amelia Earhart Award nominee, and received the Harvard Book Award, Elbin Full Scholarship to West Liberty University, Megan J. Phillis Scholarship for Academic Excellence, and Arion Choral Award. She also plays the flute in the West Hills Symphonic Band.

Gragan will major in voice and flute performance at West Liberty University.

Lounder is the son of Michael and Leslie Lounder of Avella. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and gifted program. He ran cross country and track and field.

He received the Budash Scholarship and Chuck Mahoney Memorial Scholarship.

He will attend Washington & Jefferson College to major in pre-medicine.

Angus is the daughter of Tami Reed of Burgettstown. She was a member of Spanish Club, chorus, Women’s Student Union, Debate Club and Environmental Club. She will attend the Community College of Allegheny County with an eventual career goal of clinical therapist.

Cunningham is the daughter of Michael and Susan Cunningham of Burgettstown. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Physics Club, Club HOPE, yearbook staff and was class treasurer. She was a varsity cheerleader and participated in Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science.

She will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg to major in nursing to eventually become a nurse anesthetist.

Ferris is the son of Mark and Patty Ferris of Burgettstown. He was a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Pep Club and Student Forum. He played on the baseball, basketball and golf teams.

He will pursue a business degree at Virginia Tech.

Smith is the daughter of Vern and Sarah Smith of Burgettstown. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Club HOPE, Ski Club, Physics Club, Southwestern Academic League, ATTA Girl STEM Club, the Devilettes, and participated in Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and Science Olympiad. She also was on the track and field team.

She will attend Mercyhurst University to major in Sustainability Studies.

Tournay is the daughter of Katie County of Burgettstown. She was a member of National Honor Society, Pep Club, Student Council, Student Forum, Spanish Club and was yearbook editor. She was also a Devilette and participated in Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science.

She will attend California University of Pennsylvania to study secondary education.
