HANOVER
Assault alleged: Jason Patrick Smith, 27, of 351 Tantlinger Hollow Road, Fairfield Township, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and harassment by township police Friday. According to the criminal complaint, Smith bit an officer on his right wrist at the east gate of KeyBank Pavilion Friday evening. He also bit a woman’s finger, according to police. He was released from Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 27 before District Judge Gary Havelka.
MONESSEN
Man jailed: Daniel Clayton Whitley, 27, of 501 Park Manor Road, Monessen, is charged by city police with simple assault, harassment and theft, court records show. Police accuse Whitley of kicking Leshae Corbett in the shoulder before spraying her with pepper spray and stealing her smartphone about 3:10 p.m. Saturday outside of his residence. He was placed in Westmoreland County Jail on $2,500 bond set by District Judge Roger F. Eckels.
MONONGAHELA
Woman jailed: Renee Eileen Allen, 49, of 1243 Fourth St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with simple assault and harassment over allegations she struck her mother, Norma Jean Augustine, in the head and kicked her in the back about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Lincoln Street, court records show. Allen was placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bail set by District Judge Ethan Ward.
ROSTRAVER
Theft alleged: Beth Ann Stein, 34, of 615 Hill St., North Belle Vernon, is charged by township police with resisting arrest and felony retail theft, court records show. Stein is accused of struggling with a police officer who detained her on an accusation she stole $184 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 100 Sara Way, about 5 p.m. Friday. She is free on unsecured bond.
WASHINGTON
Assault alleged: Shayne Moore, 28, of 523 Bower Ave., Canton Township, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by city police Saturday. According to the criminal complaint, Moore spit on and hit an officer in the leg after police gave him a ride home from the West End Bottle Shop on Cumberland Avenue, where he was fighting with customers and staff Saturday evening. Moore was incarcerated in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. June 19 before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
