Monessen man jailed on heroin, stolen gun charges
MONESSEN – A Monessen man was in custody after police claim to have seized stolen guns and a large amount of heroin from his residence Friday.
Armed with a search warrant, police also seized three bags of marijuana and $891 from Eric Tarrell Emerson, 30, during the 6:18 a.m. search of his 1209 Summit Ave. apartment, court records allege.
The search was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation by city police and the state attorney general’s office, targeting Emerson, who has an extensive, multistate criminal history, including a drug delivery conviction.
That conviction prevents him for having a firearm in Pennsylvania, police noted in the affidavit.
Investigators forced their way into his home and said they found four semiautomatic handguns in his bedroom, along with a 30-round AK-47 magazine in a backpack.
Located on the ground below a window in his bedroom was a plastic bag holding 304 stamp bags of heroin, police said.
Police also arrested Kim Jackson, 45, of the same address, on accusations she had eight stamp bags of heroin in her bedroom. She is free on unsecured bond after being arraigned Friday before Senior District Judge Herbert Mitchell on charges of drug possession, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Emerson is charged with illegal possession of firearms, drug possession with intent to deliver, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence, drug possession, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mitchell sent Emerson to Westmoreland County Jail on $50,000 bond.
